The Hoboken Police Department’s Investigations Division encompasses the Detective Bureau and the Records Bureau.
The Detective Bureau is tasked with investigations ranging from phone scams and financial thefts to bias incidents and sexual assaults, burglaries, thefts, controlled dangerous substances and robberies. The Bureau is comprised of the Major Case Unit, the Special Victim’s Unit, the Financial Crimes Unit, and the Street Crimes Unit.

The Bureau of Identification is tasked with a wide range of functions including the safekeeping of Property and Evidence, Firearms Processing, Expungements, and Outside Employment among other responsibilities.
