The Hoboken Police Department announces it will once again be participating in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) National Take Back Day on Saturday, April 25, 2026, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Applications available for the Hoboken Junior Police Academy 2026
The Hoboken Police Department is now accepting applications for its 2026 Junior Police Academy, a free, week-long summer program that gives local youth an inside look at law enforcement while building leadership skills and advancing community connections. The academy will run from Monday, July 13, through Friday, July 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Stevens Institute of Technology. The program is open to Hoboken residents ages 10 to 15 and is offered at no cost to families, and 30 applicants will be selected at random. Hoboken Police make multiple arrests, seizing firearm and illegal drugs
*PRESS RELEASE* Hoboken Police make multiple arrests, seizing firearm and illegal drugs The Hoboken Police Department today announced the arrest of three individuals on narcotics and weapons related offenses. At approximately 11:30 p.m., on March 24, 2026, Hoboken Police responded to the 200 block of Harrison Street on reports of a physical dispute inside an apartment, with one of the involved individuals seen brandishing a handgun. Upon arrival, officers located and detained 21-year-old Tahjmir Mitchell, of Hoboken. A search incident to arrest found him to be in possession of 24 bags of CDS crack-cocaine, six wax folds of heroin, and drug paraphernalia. Hoboken police announce the arrest of a Hoboken man for criminal sexual contact
On Jan. 1, 2026, at approximately 3:10 p.m., Hoboken Police responded to the area of Willow Avenue and Third Street, on reports of a man exposing himself and engaging in a lewd act in front of another individual. Based on a description provided, officers identified the actor as 45-year-old Damont Dyer of Hoboken. Dyer was quickly located on the 300 block of Washington Street, and he was detained. The victim positively identified Dyer as the person involved in the incident. Dyer was arrested for criminal sexual contact, transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, and processed.
