On Jan. 1, 2026, at approximately 3:10 p.m., Hoboken Police responded to the area of Willow Avenue and Third Street, on reports of a man exposing himself and engaging in a lewd act in front of another individual.
Based on a description provided, officers identified the actor as 45-year-old Damont Dyer of Hoboken. Dyer was quickly located on the 300 block of Washington Street, and he was detained. The victim positively identified Dyer as the person involved in the incident.
Dyer was arrested for criminal sexual contact, transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters, and processed. He was ultimately taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
“I commend the swift actions and thorough investigative work of the responding officers,” said Hoboken Police Chief Steven Aguiar. “Their professionalism and commitment led to a quick arrest in this case, holding the individual accountable, and demonstrating once again, these types of incidents are taken extremely seriously in Hoboken.”
